The School Toolkit has been updated to clarify the following items: updates and links regarding students returning to physical activity and sports and what types of situations may constitute a close contact with additional links. We also added a section on the Michigan.gov/coronavirus outbreak tracker webpage: https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98163_98173_102480---,00.html
Download the Revised School Toolkit (PDF) for more information.
The CDC Materials is an attachment to the toolkit. It contains posters and materials made available through the Centers for Disease Control. Download the CDC Materials (PDF) and print them in color for more clarity.
The School Handout is an algorithm or flowchart and discussion of close contact, cohorts and how to deal with various situations at school regarding COVID-19. Download the School Handout (PDF) and use it as a resource to help guide in situations regarding students.
The Michigan Safe Schools Roadmap is also a great resource for you to look into as you prepare for opening your schools and districts during the upcoming year. This is the best place to go if you do not find your answers in the School Toolkit above.
In addition, if you have specific question or situations that you don’t understand or cannot determine an answer based on the resources provided, please call the Jackson County Health Department at (517) 768-1646. You may have to leave a message but this line is being monitored closely and you will received a call back so it is important to leave your name and number.
If you want a written response, please email jchdcovid@mijackson.org and someone will be in touch with you. Please remember not to email any personal health information or anything that would violate FERPA or HIPAA regulations.
